The Internal Rooms Start To Take Shape

The walls are up, the roof is on, the floors are laid so its time to decorate right? Well, almost

Next comes the windows

We need to start by making the site water tight so we need to get the windows on the site, but we are also still working on the far side of the site with work still progressing on the bricklaying, roofing and more…
Its going to be some time still before we have a completed showhouse but we are making progress and its great to see how open ans spacious the rooms are starting to feel.

Making it homely

All rooms when just bare breeze blocks and concrete floors look dark with an element of doom and gloom. Does this mean that the property will be dark? its simply not the case. When we put the windows in and we can get the plastboard and plaster on the walls, the room will lift up and feel better.
Later in the project, once we paint and decorate the walls the room lighting will pick up more again, reflecting the light from the windows.
We fully anticipate these room feeling bright, light and spacious.
These purpose built rental properties will be among the best properties in Carlisle and we anticipate them being in high demand.

Going That Mile For Tradition

Here at Mcknight & Son Builders: we have years of history with our area. We care about the community and area we live, work and enjoy our lives in and we think we replicate our love for the area with the OldSchoolCourt designs.

Attention to detail

If you look closer at the photos we are publishing of the old school court development, you will see the attention to detail. We want this property to stand the test of time as with all our properties, but with this development, rich deep in history for the old school that originally sat on the site, we are replicating and keeping some of the original features such as window structures and brickwork patters. Something that is often lost in today’s construction.

Its all in the brickwork

You can see how we have replicated the brickwork arch and detailed with a different colour brick to emphasise the arch.
High-quality craftsmanship and a testimony to our bricklayers. We are really pleased with the end result and the tenants that come to live in this property on completion will see the value in the work we are doing.

Old School Court Roof Emerges

Its been a long time coming, but brick by brick, we have been making our way up to the top of the OldSchoolCourt Rafters. It’s really pleasing to see that the roof emerges now as we continue working our way around this large complex.

Making it watertight

We are not quite there yet, the development has still got to have its windows and there is only half the roof in situ. As you can imagine, doing a site this large can take some time, even our timber team are still creating roof rafters on the opposite side of the site. We will update you when the site becomes watertight and then we can show you some internal developments

Time equates to quality

We like to think that the work, craftsmanship and attention to detail are clear. Especially with the roof standard on this project. it looks great and we are really proud of this. Let us know your thoughts on the comments below
